NewsUganda PLAN-IT Toolkit Workshop a Great SuccessThe first Uganda PLAN-IT workshop took place in June 2006 at the Makerere University Faculty of Computing and IT. All Cisco Networking Academies in Uganda were invited to attend this workshop, which focused on teaching how to use the PLAN-IT Gender Initiative Toolkit, Workforce Development Toolkit, and Financial Sustainability Toolkit. Participants plan to implement PLAN-IT at their Academies in the upcoming school year. This event was led by instructors from several Ugandan Academies, the two United Nations volunteers working with the Networking Academy program in Uganda, and Hital Muraj, the Cisco AAM for East Africa. The PLAN-IT Stars Program is based on the successes of sub-Saharan African Academies in implementing the PLAN-IT toolkits for gender inclusion, workforce development, and financial sustainability.
