Expand Physical Access Control

The Cisco Physical Access Gateway supports a modular architecture that allows you to add doors to the solution without needing additional Ethernet ports. The Cisco Physical Access Reader Module connects door hardware, such as locks and readers, to the Cisco Physical Access Gateway to control up to two additional doors.

The Cisco Physical Access Reader Module:

• Can power external devices, such as badge readers and electric locks/strikes, to simplify deployment
• Eases deployment by letting you add reader modules to the system without service disruption
• Lowers the overall cost of the solution by allowing an existing Cisco Physical Access Gateway to manage additional doors

The Cisco Physical Access Reader Module must be connected through a three-wire Controller Area Network (CAN) bus to the Cisco Physical Access Gateway. The device is externally powered from a 12 to 24 VDC source.
