Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco® ONS 15454 Select Software Releases - SONET and SDH. The last day to order the affected product is March 15, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until March 13, 2012. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the latest available software release which includes many new system capabilities, enhanced network security, and general code enhancements for improved software stability. For SONET and SDH Customers
For customers using Release 5.0.x:
• TCC2(P) - Migrate to the latest available release.
• For customers migrating from Release 5.0.5 - To ensure compatibility with the features in this release, migrate to Release 6.2.0 or later.
• Alternative - The latest maintenance release on the Release 5.0.x branch.
For customers using Release 4.x.x:
• TCC2(P) - Migrate to the latest available release.
• TCC+ - Migrate to the latest 4.1.x release, or conduct an in-service processor upgrade to TCC2(P), then migrate to the latest available release.
• Alternative - The latest maintenance release on the Release 4.1.x and 4.6.x branches.
For customers using Release 2.x.x:
• TCC+ - Migrate to the latest 4.1.x release, or conduct an in-service processor upgrade to TCC2(P), then migrate to the latest available release.
• TCC - Processor has reached end of life.
