Cisco IP Solution Center Version 4.0

PRODUCT BULLETIN NO. 2712

Cisco Systems® announces the availability of the Cisco® IP Solution Center 4.0. Cisco IP Solution Center (ISC) is a family of intelligent element management applications that help reduce overall network administration and management costs by providing automated resource management and rapid profiled-based provisioning capabilities that enable rapid deployment and fast time to market of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Metro Ethernet technologies.

The applications below can operate alone or as a suite.

• Cisco IP Solution Center MPLS VPN Management application

• Cisco IP Solution Center Layer 2 VPN and Metro Ethernet application

• Cisco IP Solution Center Traffic Engineering Management application

Capabilities include provisioning and troubleshooting for MPLS VPNs, ATM/Frame Relay/Ethernet over MPLS VPNs, ATM/Frame Relay transport over Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol v3 (L2TPv3) VPNs, Metro Ethernet VPNs, and planning and configuration of MPLS Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE).

NEW FEATURES

New features of Cisco IP Solution Center 4.0 include:

• Traffic Engineering Management application-A new application in the Cisco IP Solution Center family. Traffic Engineering Management simplifies visualization, configuration, and management of MPLS-TE tunnels on a network. It also computes and configures primary tunnels to meet user-specified constraints, and computes Fast Reroute [FRR] bypass tunnels for network element protection. The Cisco IP Solution Center Traffic Engineering Management application is a replacement for the Cisco Tunnel Builder and Tunnel Builder Pro products.

• Provisioning of L2TPv3-based Layer 2 VPNs-Provisioning of L2TPv3-based Layer 2 VPNs-A new feature in the existing Cisco IP Solution Center Layer 2 VPN and Metro Ethernet Management application that enables the provisioning of Frame Relay services, ATM Adaptation Layer 5 (AAL5) transport, and Cell Relay services over a packet-based core.

Cisco IP Solution Center 4.0 updates are listed below. A complete list of updates is available in the Cisco IP Solution Center 4.0 Release Notes document.

• MPLS VPN Management application update support of Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0(27)SV2 and Release 12.0(28)S for Cisco 12000 Series routers and Cisco 7500 Series routers, and Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(16)BX for Cisco 10000 Series routers.

• Layer 2 VPN Management application (ERS/EWS/VPLS services) update support of Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(17a) SX3 for Cisco 7600 Series routers, and Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(19)EA1 and Release 12.1(22)EA1 for the Cisco Catalyst® 3550 Series.
