Read Me Before Configuring the Router
Revised: May 12, 2008, 78-18574-01B0This router can be configured using Cisco Configuration Professional Express (Cisco CP Express) and Cisco Configuration Professional (Cisco CP).
Cisco CP Express is a basic router configuration tool that resides in router Flash memory. It is shipped with every device ordered with Cisco CP. Cisco CP Express allows the user to give the device a basic configuration, and allows the user to install Cisco CP for advanced configuration and monitoring capabilities.
Cisco CP is the next generation advanced configuration and monitoring tool. It enables you to configure such things as router LAN and WAN interfaces, a firewall, IPSec VPN, dynamic routing, and wireless communication. Cisco CP is installed on a PC. It is available on a CD, and can also be downloaded from www.cisco.com.
The Cisco Configuration Professional Quick Start Guide explains how to set up the PC to run Cisco CP Express, how to install Cisco CP, and how to begin using Cisco CP to configure features on the router.

Get Cisco CP and the Quick Start Guide From the CD
If you received the Cisco CP CD, follow these steps to get the Cisco Configuration Professional Quick Start Guide, and install Cisco CP.
Step 1
Place the Cisco Configuration Professional CD in the CD drive.
Step 2
On the PC desktop, double-click My Computer.
Step 3
In the displayed window, double-click the CD drive icon.
Step 4
In the Windows Explorer window that shows the contents of the CD, click Documentation > Cisco-config-pro-qsg-en.pdf to open the Cisco Configuration Professional Quick Start Guide.
Step 5
Follow the instructions in the Cisco Configuration Professional Quick Start Guide to set up the PC and configure the router.
Step 6
To view the training videos, go to the root directory and click ciscocp-video-1_0.html.

If you did not receive the Cisco CP CD, follow these steps to get Cisco CP and the Cisco Configuration Professional Quick Start Guide.
Step 1
Go to http://www.cisco.com/go/ciscocp, and click Download Software in the Support box.
Step 2
If a login page appears, enter your login credentials. In the Software Download page, click Cisco Configuration Professional.
Step 3
In the next download page that appears, click the release number that you want to download.
Step 4
Click Cisco Configuration Professional Quick Start Guide. You can save the PDF file to the PC for future reference.
Step 5
To obtain Cisco CP, click on the Cisco Configuration Professional package link.
